Almond Tart

Almond Extract 4oz.
Almond Tart
 
One 5" x 14" Pate Brisee Tart Shell, partially baked and cooled
Ingredients
  • 1½ cups sliced blanched almonds
  • 1½ cup heavy cream
  • 1¼ cups pure cane sugar
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Grand Marnier
  • 2 teaspoons Sonoma Syrup Almond Extract
  • zest of one Meyer lemon or tangerine
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a heavy saucepan combine the almonds, cream, sugar, salt and Grand Marnier and stir over low heat for 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Add the almond extract and stir in zest.
  3. Pour the mixture into the tart shell and bake for approximately 30 minutes until caramel colored. Remove the tart shell from the pan before the sugar hardens. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
The following recipes were created with Vanilla Bean Extract 'Crush' to eliminate the time consuming process of finding and scraping vanilla beans, however you may use the Vanilla Bean Extract in all of these recipes.
