    From what is your Alcohol derived in your Vanilla, Almond and Lemon Extracts and all extracts used in your Infused Simple Syrups? Organic pure Cane sugar and not Corn. We use certified organic, non-GMO alcohol derived from pure cane sugar.

    We are dedicated to making healthy indulgences for you and your family. We use certified organic ingredients when possible. All Extracts are Certified Organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOFF). We have provided nutritional information for most of our products, so please visit the specific page of the product you are interested in to view the nutritional information.
  • Why is there a ring on the inside of a Sonoma Syrup bottle or floating/sediment at the bottom?
    This may be caused by naturally occurring fruit or botanical oils, pulp or pectin contained in the syrup. Because we are infusing fresh spearmint leaves, fruit, and botanicals this may naturally throw particulate into the syrup. This should dissolve once shaken and is not a cause of concern.   • What quality guidelines does Sonoma Syrup have?
    The goal at Sonoma Syrup is to produce the finest Simple Syrups, Extracts, and Bar Mixers available. We are artisan small batch and we implement rigorous procedures that ensure top quality at every stage of ingredient sourcing and production. Sonoma Syrup manufactures its products under a Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) operating plan and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maximize product safety.
  • Are Sonoma Syrup bottles and packaging materials recyclable?
    Sonoma Syrup Co. has a sustainability initiative: Always Glass, Never Plastic. All Sonoma Syrup glass bottles are highly recyclable and packaging materials are made with environmentally friendly packaging made of recycled materials.
  • Why does my milk used for lattes sometimes curdle when adding fruit syrups?
    Sonoma Syrup Co. fruit syrups contain the acids from real fruit, which can cause milk to curdle. It is a natural occurrence and does not affect the flavor. A popular technique in coffeehouses is to add Sonoma Syrup to the coffee first, and then pour in the steamed milk. The coffee dilutes the acidity of the syrup so the milk can remain creamy.
  • Do Sonoma Simple Syrups contain any allergens? Gluten?
    There are no allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, fish, shellfish, soy, eggs, wheat) used as ingredients, however, our products are produced and packaged on equipment that may come in contact with wheat, tree nuts, soy, eggs, shellfish, dairy, fish and peanuts so we cannot be 100% gluten-free certain.
  • What is the type of sugar used? How do I know your syrups are truly artisanal made?
    All of our Simple Syrups are handcrafted in small batch steam kettles with pure cane sugar from the United States. You can be sure we are artisan and handcrafted. Each fruit flavor or botanical has a handcrafted infusion process. We were the first all-natural syrup company in the United States on the scene in 2001 to NOT use High Fructose Corn Syrup or any preservatives, artificial flavors or colors - and we still never do!

Storage & Shelf Life

  • Where is the expiration date located?
    The expiration date is printed on the shoulder or bottom round of the Sonoma Syrup bottle (Best Before date plus our product code and Julian stamp date to ensure we can track back any bottle anywhere in the world at any time).
  • Do Sonoma Syrup products need to be refrigerated?
    Our Artisan Infused Syrups do not require refrigeration. If refrigerated, like honey, they may begin to form sugar crystals. All Artisan Bar Mixers must be refrigerated after opening. Our Artisan Extracts do not require refrigeration, but should be stored in a cool, dry, dark location to maintain best flavor.
  • What is the shelf life of opened Sonoma Simple Syrup?
    As with any all natural product it is important to keep the cap clean and close tightly. Store in a pantry setting of 65 to 75F degrees and keep away from direct light, heat and freezing temperatures. If using pumps or pour spouts, cover pumps with foil or plastic overnight in order to prevent any possible natural air born mold entering through the pump or spout opening. Our simples syrups are formulated to last a long time even when opened.
  • What is the shelf life?
    Our Artisan Infused Simple Syrups are best before 30 months from the date of manufacture. All Artisan Bar Mixers are best within 24 months from the date of manufacture, and must be refrigerated after opening. For Olive Mary Mix, estimated shelf-life is 24 months unopened and 6 months once opened and stored tightly sealed in refrigerator. The Artisan Extracts are best when used within 36 months from the date of manufacture and should be stored away from heat and in a cool, dark, dry location to maintain best flavor.
